![]() ![]() But at this point, the add printer dialogue now always says that the referenced printer is offline, regardless of whether or not there is even a valid printer share of that name on the WIndows 7 machine, and regardless of whether such printer is actually online or not. This change does allow FILE sharing to working properly between the two machines, and allows me to get further in attempting to add the shared printer under 98SE. In the registry, I have already changed LMCompatibilityLevel entries to 3 under Windows 98SE, and to 1 under Windows 7. But no true solution was ever provided to that question, so I need to ask again: How can Windows 98SE and Windows 7 be configured to allow printing from Windows 98SE to a printer that is shared under Windows 7?
